After months of uncertainty about classes to take and registration struggles, I ended my first week of the semester with a schedule that looks like this:

And after that first week of having this schedule, I think I’m going to keep it. The semester is going to be a lot of long days with long nights of homework, but I think it should be good nonetheless. ODE is a typical math class so it won’t be fun, but that also means it shouldn’t be too much of a nuisance. Physics lab will be a little bit of a nuisance, but it shouldn’t be anything difficult as long as I get the lab reports out of the way over weekends. Computer Science/Java Programming isn’t exactly something I’m looking forward to, but it’s a required class and I lucked out with a good professor so I’m determined to make the best of it. Contemporary Civilization I have a different professor than last semester and this one assigns a larger workload than I’m used to, but the guy is fantastic and I love his class already. Modern dance is just fantastic. I had forgotten how much I missed dance until I walked into that studio on that first day and just felt the Marley floor under my feet. Quantum mechanics is actually terrifying, but the first lecture wasn’t quite as scary as I envisioned and I find the subject matter fascinating despite its complexity so my last minute decision to enroll seems to have been a good one.
The moral of the story though is that I am determined to have the best semester that I can have. I’m not counting on it being easy. I’m not expecting anything to go the way I really want it to. I’m not anticipating many moments existing without stress. I am however, (now more than ever) wanting to learn how to deal with this life I’ve been given to call my own. I have five semesters left at this beautiful, intimidating university and I am going to make the best of them.
